Re: Cornelius Boots Taimu CD-ROM

Wow! That souds interesting!
Cornelius really got into taimu, didn't he?
He is a very good musician, so I'd be very excited to see what he came up with. I'll certainly buy one!

Double that. I first stumbled across him here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsbCvECexhc when I was looking for Eric Dolphy stuff on youtube, and then I thought "isn't that the guy in the back of that video Brian and Ken made of the Coltrane tune?". I guess it was.

Great, Ken, thanks!

Cornelius has big wind and excellent intonation from blowing on giant saxophones all day smile

Excellent! Thanks for posting, Ken. Great stuff!
And yes Brian Onward Taimu Soldiers!
I have just worked with Frank Denyer on his Taimu piece to make it ready for recording. Plan is to record it in May or June next year in Holland.

Re: Cornelius Boots Taimu CD-ROM

The recording of this event, donated by Mr. Boots and Ken, will air on SHKO beginning this evening.  Here are the times, given in MDT:

Thursday, October 21st: 7pm
Friday, October 22nd: 4am and 7pm
Saturday, October 23rd: 4am and 7pm

Because the recording is not quite an hour long I supplemented the recording with audio from YouTube of Brian Ritchie playing taimu and also the clip from YouTube called "The Taimu Story" - to make it a full Taimu hour!

Look for the recording(s) of the concert on SHKO.org in the near-ish future.

Because the broadcast on SHKO is hamstrung by parameters out of my control, in its cookie-cutter radio format, I am not able to stream consecutive pieces by the same artist (or even two in a two hour period, so I have circumvented this by compiling the pieces into one long track.  Therefore, here is the track listing for the program:

1. Shunyata (warm up piece) (2.65 Taimu)
2. In Which Case YOur Mouth Turns to Steam (warm up piece) (2.65 Taimu)
3. Chaos Return (2.8 Taimu)
4. The Tree and the Maiden (2.75 Taimu)
5. Morticus Leviticus (2.45 Taimu)
6. The Cosmographer's Daughter (2.45 Taimu)
7. The Mysteries of Harmony and Focus (2.8 Taimu)
8. Pythias Dualis (2.75 Taimu)
9. Purgatory (2.45 Taimu)

Break

10. Improv.  Brian Ritchie
11. The Taimu Story
12. Tsuru no Sugomori
