Taikoza on Long Island, NY

For those in the New York area this weekend Taikoza, the Japanese music and dance group founded by Marco Lienhard will be performing at Adelphi University’s new Performing Arts Center. The group will perform two shows on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the AU PAC, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY. The day will also feature a Taikoza: Live! Children’s Workshop at 1:00 p.m., in which a limited number of children will have the opportunity to work with the Taikoza Company and play the drums themselves.

Mastery does not lay in the mastery of technique, but in penetrating the heart of the music. However, he who has not mastered the technique will not penetrate the heart of the music.

I saw Marco's company a couple of years ago at UMASS. They are awesome! I will be out of town but strongly encourage anyone to see the show.
