Yuu - together or apart

Hi,

I have been playing on a Monty Levenson 2.1 (probably mid 1970's) for the last year and a half.

This Christmas I will be receiving a Shakuhachi Yuu (Mom is not big on surprises).

My question is, If I am playing it daily, is it best to keep it in one piece or should I take it apart after each session?

Thanks.

Re: Yuu - together or apart

Keep it together as long as you are not traveling.

Re: Yuu - together or apart

Some runs of the Yuu production have had problems with the joint, so might be best to keep it together. But I don't!

Re: Yuu - together or apart

My joint was very tight, now there is a small crack in it and I can seperate the flute easilly. I keep it now in one piece, but not for travel.

Re: Yuu - together or apart

Thank you for the feedback.  I enjoy playing my Levenson 2.1 that I inherited, but I am looking forward to playing this Yuu.  The hardest part is that it is already in the house, but I have to wait until Dec. 18 to open my present. wink
