Hi,
I have been playing on a Monty Levenson 2.1 (probably mid 1970's) for the last year and a half.
This Christmas I will be receiving a Shakuhachi Yuu (Mom is not big on surprises).
My question is, If I am playing it daily, is it best to keep it in one piece or should I take it apart after each session?
Thanks.

Keep it together as long as you are not traveling.

Some runs of the Yuu production have had problems with the joint, so might be best to keep it together. But I don't!

My joint was very tight, now there is a small crack in it and I can seperate the flute easilly. I keep it now in one piece, but not for travel.

Thank you for the feedback. I enjoy playing my Levenson 2.1 that I inherited, but I am looking forward to playing this Yuu. The hardest part is that it is already in the house, but I have to wait until Dec. 18 to open my present.
