Dear Shakuhachi Comunity,

I wanted share the work I am doing since 2009 for the Ministry of Education and culture in the Balearic islands,Spain.

I am shakuhachi instructor in schools and colleges.

My job is to spread and introduce the Shakuhachi and tradition. Here is a fragment of the workshop at Elementary School "Camilo Jose Cela" in Mallorca.

Hola Rodrigo.
Great work! I love working with young people too. Their hunger for knowledge is both wondrous and inspiring.  I recently did a shakuhachi lecture/demonstration on simple flute making for my son's Kindergarten class.

Sanding a finger hole seems quite natural to them.
Felicidades!

Re: Shakuhachi Workshop-Concerts -Ministry of Education and Culture.

Hello Perry,

Thank you very much.
I really enjoy with the kids, and actually today they ask me alots of things about "making" the Shakuhachi, they seemed
interested and curious about how the bamboo in the forest become a instrument!and sounds like that:) (some of them knew the sound becouse they watch the Japanese Anime)

Very nice photo! i never tried to sanding the holes yet, they seem very focused on the task smile

Buen trabajo!

With warm regards,

Rodrigo
