Dear Members,

Yesterday night, I had a meeting dinner with a friend from my childhood, he brings a delicious vegan Cake and present me this painting of a Komuso.

He is not in the Shakuhachi World, but he like and love the sound of the instrument.

I just wanted share the image of the painting Komuso smile

Nice! I like the playful, vibrant colors.

I just came back from a lesson with Ralph at the loft of one of his students who happens to be a visual artist. She's presently working on a series inspired by the shakuhachi. Some were colorful and expressive like your friends. I found this one particularly compelling due to the muted, introspective mood.

Rodrigo, nice painting! Also, I couldn't stay without look at the other pics on your album, and I became very happy by looking your workshop! What a nice feeling!

Perry, indeed, the look of this art you posted is very cool too! Looks like a tree bark or a stone writing!

Nice artwork!

While perusing Rodrigo's Flickr stream I saw his video of him playing a hang. I had never heard of this instument. Here's his video:

The video is rather short so I found another one of a different player on YouTube:

And so to the Wikipedia article:

Fascinating instrument!

Thanks Rodrigo!
