Hello ,
I am new to reading japanese sheet music , I have been playing shakuhachi for 2 years and I thought I would try to learn a piece . I came across Kyorei on youtube and was quite touched by the piece , I ordered it and when I recieved it and try to translate the music using a shakuhachi fingering chart I hit a wall . I was curious if there is an easy to read conversions of this piece ?
I am able to work out the first note but even the symbols dont match correctly on the fingering chart bar the first one .
Any suggestions ?
Thanks

Well there are many types of shakuhachi notation; they all look similar, but some have different katakana for different notes, and various other differences. What kind of notation did you get? Do you know who wrote it? I could probably help you out. I can read most kinds. If you want, you can e-mail me and I can tell you how to read it most likely; I know the piece also.
