Hello

Hello all!
I have been a reader of the forum for some time and have enjoyed many of the exchanges. I have played shakuhachi for about 10 years. I am mainly self-taught but have had the very good fortune of studying with many wonderful teachers. These exchanges have been invaluable.

My interest is in Honkyoku on Hotchiku(raw bamboo). My main interest has been in the Honkyoku of Watazumido and the Myoan roots(among others) of his playing. I also really enjoy the playing of Koku Nishimura and some of the old Myoan Masters that I have heard. I have had the great fortune of meeting people that have similar interests both here and in Japan. This is no small feat as this style is not very popular anywhere and finding anything related to these matters is not the easiest.

Anyway, I hope I may be of benefit to the forum.

Hi Prem,

I assume you are the Prem I know (formerly of the Chicago area). How are
things going out on the coast? Welcome to this forum.

Hello
Ken, Michael and Kevin.... Thanks for the welcome! Yes, I am the -Prem from Chi-town. It has been very wonderful and inspiring living out on the Left Coast. Although little shaky at times (pun intended).
