Loose joint problem

I have a 20+ year old flute whose joint is loose (I moved from a wet climate to a dry climate).  I've had it since new.   Can anyone advise how I could tighten the joint?  Should I try using lacquer?

Thanks!

Re: Loose joint problem

Hi opaekaa,

Try storing your flute separated in a humid box with about 70 degrees of humidity for a few days. That may tighten the joint. Or, many people use plumbers tape since it goes on and comes off easily.
