Splitting and happy summer

My bad.  I posted the following in the "Splitting the Zen forum" thread that was moderated into oblivion.  Please accept my original post, in its entirety, in the healthy shakuhachi spirit it was intended.

Sometimes splitting can occur when the environment is too dry.

Wishing everyone a summer with more binds than splits.  Stay open, stay cool, and whatever you do, remain approximately 70% water at all times.

Re: Splitting and happy summer

Darren,

I'm praying for your immortal soul, Man. Do try to behave yourself or I'll blow my three score and ten magical notes thus instantly enlightening me (again) while turning your heathenish ass into a sea cucumber (I leaned this particular ditty from a Chinese ancient I met while on holidays in Ibiza: I sat and meditated outside his condo for nearly forty three minutes before he agreed to teach it to me. He learned it from an old, old episode of 'Kung-Fu' that hasn't even been re-released on DVD yet... I'd publish the piece here, but I'd have to kill you all... but please don't take that entirely literally).

Happy everything.

Regards,

Harry.

To become a sea cucumber? Not a bad deal I'd say. By the way, like the Jolly Green Giant of the Sea, I ate lots of these in Japan with some vinegar and a bit of sake (rice wine). A bit chewy they were, like a heathenish ass I suppose.

Re: Splitting and happy summer

Erik Satie composed a piano piece called "Dried Embryo of the Sea Cucumber".  A finer song about the sea cucumber you won't find.  I'll let him explain the rest...  (trans.)

Ignorant people call it the "sea cucumber".

The Holothurian ordinarily climbs on stones or blocks of rock. Like the cat, this sea animal purrs, moreover, it spins a dripping thread. The effect of light seems to disturb him.

I observed an Holothurian in the Saint-Malo Bay.
Morning outing
It rains.
The sun is behind the clouds.
Rather cold
Good
Little purr
What a beautiful rock!
This is a good place to live.
Like a nightingale with a toothache.

Evening return
It is raining.
The sun is gone.
Provided that it never comes back.
Rather cold
Good
Mocking little purr
It was a very beautiful rock! Sticky!

Don't make me laugh, sprig of moss:
you are tickling me.
I haven't any tobacco.
Fortunately I don't smoke.
Grandious
To your best

So the 70 esoteric shakuhachi notes you were talking about, Harry...  can I get those in Kinko notation?

-Darren.
