Is that a 2.7?

Re: Shakuhachi Drawing

It's a Grass and Wind 2.1 jinashi. ( http://www.gwflutes.com )  It's one of my favorite flutes.  If you check out my myspace page at: http://www.myspace.com/harpgear you will find pics of me all over with it.  I have some nice jiari and other jinashi but this one is my main go to flute when I am out and about playing.  It just has a certain feel and sound to it.  I have been eyeing one of Ken's Taimu flutes but I have to do some saving up for the one I want.

Re: Shakuhachi Drawing

Hey Brian - This is Chris, your fellow Floridian over in Melbourne.  That's a cool drawing... looks a lot like me, only I have a longer beard, and I'm not southpaw.  Thanks for the link to Grass and Bamboo. I didn't know about Jon Kypros' flutes, though I'd seen his name.  Beautiful, natural flutes... and affordable!  It's cool to know of another tuned-in jinashi player in FL.

At some point, there'll be a FL shakuhachi summit.  That'll be cool.

Enjoy!

Re: Shakuhachi Drawing

We should just get together sometime.  I am willing to make the drive down there.  Melbourne is beautiful and it gives me a reason to go.  I have pondered trying to put a workshop together in FL and have some great teachers come in.  Normally, I help organize these for blues harmonica around the country.   I just need to get enough interested people to commit.  Like I said, if you are ever interested in some company your way let me know.
