European shakuhahci summer school happened!

This is not an "official' report, I don't have numbers and figures, but I wanted to express my appreciation about what just happened, and give a few infos, and may be other participants will follow up. Please forgive my imperfect english.

The 4 wonderfull and exciting days of the second European Shakyhachi Summer School took place in the beautifull green place of Munster city and its area, in Alsace, France.
We were gifted by the presence of the incredibly talented Furuya Teruo sensei and Kakizakai Kaoru sensei from Japan, who besides the intense and generous courses they offered, played at two of the evening concerts, one in the big church in the city of Munster, where more than hundred of people from the area attended too, and every one was amazed by the quality and magic that happened. They came from Japan with two very unique koto and shamisen players, Oonishi Mizuka and Watanabe Haruko, who accompanied the Sankioku courses and played at the concerts as well. It really brought an extra deep flavour of the japanese spirit, and we all had the chance to know more those instruments as well as the singing that goes with them. Those two ladies were really helpfull, gracious and talented. They really opened for me an extra window.
We also had the presence of Kariya sensei, who represents the tozan school in Paris, and from Jim Franklin sensei, and two french teachers, Véronique Piron sensei and Jean-François Lagrost.
Most of the organisation was taking care by Véronique Piron and Jim Franklin who did a wonderfull job, as well as teaching and playing in concert!
There was 2 student concerts/open mike and that was wonderfull moments for those who made the step, and the listeners.
We had attendes from UK, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Japan, Prague… probably forgotting someone here and the spirit was great. It was nice to spent time knowing more each other, learning so many things here and there, and bathing in the very spirit of the japanese shakuhachi culture, in the true sense of it, that is the unique sound of shakuhachi being played in excellence, in feeling and almost infinite subtleties of tones.
The japanese sensei were easy to communicate with, generous and full of a positive energy that gradually everyone benefited from it and this created a very harmonious environment, and communication grew a little further every day.
We had also chances to eventually try some shakuhachi, and some from a very talented japanese maker, named Seichiku (hanko name), and we shared a lot about our passion, and to resume all, spend 4 intense and absolutly tasty days.
Again, many thanks you to our japanese guests, to those who organized it all so wholeheartedly -what happened was worth your efforts- the teachers and the participants who created together a beautifull feeling, very open minded and hartfelt as well.
Sorry for those who could'nt attend, but you would had heard about it one day or another anyway, and I feel it is allways worth to tell when it is a succes, and not to tell when it is not.
Hope we all continue that way in inspiring each other in a spirit of humanity, generosity and simplicity. What more there is, at a social level at least? It puts eveyone at its best, and it is kind of contagious. So we didn't became greater players at once, but at least saw some more of our potential, got some extra knowledge, enthousiasm and perspective and that's a lot. Infinite is a foot ahead. Let step in.
Gambate!

Thanks to all, including those who wrote me off line, from US, Japan and Australia.
Wonderfull to see that sharing a good feeling transcends differences, it's a real common frame.

Salut Dominique,

Bon souffle !
