Feedback shakuhachi

Not sure if this made it onto the forum yet. It is called a feedback shakuhachi. Is this the future? Kind of defeats the whole point of playing shakuhachi. http://web.media.mit.edu/~roberto/shaku … uhachi.mov

Actually, what it does, is defeat the purpose of hearing....


Zen is not easy.
It takes effort to attain nothingness.
And then what do you have?

Sounds like Steve Cohn.

That's pretty cool. I could imagine an improved version of that being useful for playing duets live.

It's interesting to see all the different areas of shakuhachi related research going on. Most of them might be dead ends but that's the nature of scientific inquiry.
