Ways your friends and relatives have mispronounced "shakuhachi"

Inspired by the discussion of baseball and pine tar elsewhere.

My friends and kind have called my shakuhachi the following:

"takahashi"
"shakarachi"
"shakahachi"
"blowstick"

"Blowstick" is kinda funny the first 10 times.

Regrettably, no one has called it "shakahoochie".  I keep waiting for that one.

Re: Ways your friends and relatives have mispronounced "shakuhachi"

My in-laws had it as "sakahoozie" a couple of times. Once as "shakahachoo". But they're in their mid-80s, so they have an excuse. I love them anyway....

"Shikaku" flute, from one of my Aikido teachers.  He bought one but never really learned to play it.

My memory is faulty---have I observed before that Yooper is Japanese Pokemon-speak for 'axolotl'?

Not that I remember.  But my memory could be faulty.
