David Carradine R.I.P

First heard about the Tao from "Kung Fu" when I was a kid. Also my first taste of "ethnic" music.

That series made an indelible mark on me that continues today.

Re: David Carradine R.I.P

Same here. Taken in the context of its time it really was pretty groundbreaking.  I loved the whole loner/alien fugitive/kickass but peace-loving mystique. It in many ways began forming my path as well- many memories of watching it as a kid every week with my father. I bought the 2 series on dvd and watched them again in the last couple of years- still very cool.

He was a great guy and will be missed. He also played flute too. As I remember. It wasn't a shakuhachi though.

He played a transverse flute in KUNG FU and KILL BILL.

Re: David Carradine R.I.P

Carradine made bamboo flutes too, and many of the ones in his movies/shows were made by him.

Nice clip.  I watched 'Kung Fu' faithfully every week when the show came out; was learning Tae Kwon Do, my first martial art, at the time.  R.I.P.
